Can I use the water in my house while the system is cleaning?

Yes, you can continue to use water as normal while the system is cleaning.

Does Purgard end up in my drinking water?

No. Purgard and all other chemicals added to the salt tank are used only to clean the softener, and then flushed down the drain.

My water tastes salty. Is something wrong?

It is normal for the water to taste salty for a short time after each regeneration. Run cold water from a faucet for five minutes and the taste will disappear.

How much salt should I keep in my salt tank?

If you have at least three inches of salt in the tank, your system will work! You can fill the tank as full as you would like; the system will continue to use salt at the same rate.
